The secondary road in Arrat e Gurrës sinks, completely blocking traffic in Dragostunje i Librazhd!

The National Civil Protection Authority announces that the road segment in the Arrat e Gurrës area, in the village of Dragostunjë, which was expected to be opened to traffic at noon today after the by-pass intervention and the activation of a secondary road, has undergone an unexpected development.
According to the announcement, the secondary road temporarily open for traffic has suffered subsidence and landslides, damaging the completed works and making the segment currently impassable for both vehicles and pedestrians.
AKMC informs that for safety reasons, the vehicles of the implementing company have been withdrawn from the area and traffic has been completely stopped. Authorities inform that the situation is problematic due to the instability of the terrain.
The relevant state structures are expected to conduct an urgent geological and technical reassessment to determine further intervention steps and the possibility of restoring circulation.
Authorities are calling on citizens to avoid the area and follow only official announcements for any updates regarding the situation on this road axis in the territory of Librazhd.
