Strengthening Albania-Italy cooperation in the fight against tax evasion and financial crime
The Director General of Taxation, Ilir Binaj, held a meeting in Rome with the General of the Corps, Bruno Buratti, Brigadier General, Vito Giordano, and other leaders of the Guardia di Finanza.
According to the GDT, the focus of the discussions was on strengthening cooperation in the fight against tax evasion and developing financial investigations, especially in the digital economy, data analysis and crypto-asset tracking.
An important part of the talks was also the Tax Inspectors Without Borders project, an OECD-supported initiative that aims to further support tax investigation capacities.
The meetings confirmed the willingness to deepen cooperation and develop concrete initiatives in the fight against financial crime.
