First flight from Canada, Karakaçi: A new opportunity opens for Albania
"Not just the arrival of an aircraft, in fact a new opportunity is opening for Albania." This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Enea Karakaci, in his speech at the opening ceremony of the direct airline between Albania and Canada.
The transatlantic air connection, which occurs for the first time in the history of Albanian civil aviation, creates a bridge between our two countries, between our people, families and businesses.
"This achievement is not the result of chance. It is the product of very close cooperation between Albanian and Canadian institutions, of intensive diplomatic and technical work, as well as of the trust that the international aviation industry has in Albania. I take this opportunity to thank the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Civil Aviation Authority, our Canadian partners and all the experts who worked with dedication to make this achievement possible. Today we have proven that when there is will and cooperation, bureaucratic obstacles can be overcome and citizen interests can be put in the foreground", declared Karakaçi.
According to the minister, the Toronto-Tirana route is just the beginning. He said that work is being done with international partners to expand the network of destinations, increase infrastructure capacities and ensure that Albania remains a success story in European aviation.
