Facebook "conquers" the Albanian internet/ The platform brings over

Social networks continue to play an important role in how Albanians obtain information and navigate websites. DataReport data for 2025 shows that Facebook is the leading source of traffic coming from social networks to third-party websites in Albania, leaving all other platforms behind by a large margin.

According to statistics, 96.91% of visits coming from social networks to Albanian online sites originate from Facebook. The dominance of this platform shows that despite the growth of new applications, Facebook continues to maintain a strong influence on Albanian users, especially for the distribution of news, content and information.

After Facebook, Instagram ranks second with only 2.03% of traffic, a large difference that shows that users still use this platform more for interaction and visual content than for navigating to external pages.

Meanwhile, other networks have a much smaller impact. Platform X (formerly Twitter) brings in around 0.54% of traffic, while Pinterest 0.22%, YouTube 0.13%, LinkedIn 0.07% and Reddit 0.06%.

Another striking element is that the gap between Facebook and other platforms remains extremely large, indicating a high dependence of the Albanian online ecosystem on this platform. For many media, businesses and content creators, Facebook continues to be the main channel to distribute materials, reach audiences and bring users to their pages.

However, changes in the way the internet is consumed may bring movement in the future. The increase in the use of platforms with short videos and more interactive content is gradually changing user behavior, but so far in Albania Facebook still remains the social network that leads online traffic and influence.
