BoA Report: More focus on domestic production - “Complex and challenging external economic and financial environment”
Increasing attention to expanding domestic production and caring for human resources are the two long-term challenges for the Albanian economy. This conclusion is conveyed by the annual report of the Bank of Albania, which was presented to the Parliamentary Committee on Economy by Governor Gent Sejko.
In assessing the current situation of economic and financial developments, Governor Sejko emphasized the impact of the global crisis following the outbreak of war in the Middle East, which in particular led to an increase in oil prices.
The deputies have evaluated the annual work of the Central Bank, in particular its role in the modernization of payment systems and its contribution to the integration process.
Governor Sejko answered questions from MPs on specific issues of financial and monetary policies. After approval in the committee, the report will be read in one of the plenary sessions of the Assembly.
