The Albanian Road Authority announces that work is continuing intensively in the 2nd phase at the construction site of the Elbasan-Qafë Thane road axis. According to ARRSH, so far the physical realization of the works in this investment has reached 38%.

So far, work has been completed on the construction of the railway underpass at km 9+50. While work is being done on the construction of the automobile underpass, the construction of works of art, such as circular culverts and square culverts, retaining and retaining walls.

"At the same time, the work continues for the river protection, where the physical realization of the works has been completed in 95% of the work".

The Elbasan-Qafe Thane road axis is part of Corridor VIII and is considered one of the most important in the country, a road that will connect Durres-Elbasan-Librazhd - Qafe Thane, to continue further to North Macedonia and Bulgaria.

This project is expected to be completed in 2027, and will have a significant impact on narrowing distances with various cities and countries, as this axis connects very important areas such as the port of Durres with the border points of Greece, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria.

This road serves not only the residents of the area between Elbasan and Korça, but also local and foreign tourists, who frequent the area of ​​Pogradec and Korça, as well as foreign and local citizens who move towards Greece and North Macedonia.
