1000 wheelchairs donated to para-tetraplegics - Samir Mane: I'm sure this is just the first step
In Tirana, at the "Asllan Rusi" Sports Palace, the Mane Foundation and the "Fundjava Ndryshe" Foundation started the initiative to distribute 1,000 wheelchairs to individuals with para-tetraplegic status throughout Albania.
260 wheelchairs were distributed to those who were present at the event. For the remaining para-tetraplegic people in Tirana, who were unable to come in person, the distribution will be carried out by sending them home.
Samir Mane, President of the Mane Foundation, said that the event was just the beginning of the initiative. He promised that the Foundation will continue to support the paraplegic community and ensure that no one is left without a wheelchair.
"We have brought 1,000 wheelchairs that will be distributed starting today, but I am sure that this is only the first step. I have made a commitment with Arbri that we will provide everything that is necessary, so that no one in the Republic of Albania is ever left without a wheelchair."
The leader of "Fundjavë Ndryshe", Arbër Hajdari, kept his promise, while underlining that the initiative will be extended throughout the country.
"Through this initiative, together with the Mane Foundation, we will go door to door, in every corner of Albania, where there are people who suffer from a wheelchair; where they have written to us and are waiting for us to knock on their doors."
The initiative joins a series of initiatives that the Mane Foundation has implemented to help those with special needs, improving the lives of the most vulnerable groups in society.
In this latest initiative, the Mane Foundation also collaborated with the "Paraplegic and Tetraplegic" Association of Albania, and the State Social Service.
