Project details/ How will Korca be gasified? - Document: 13.3 million euros must be invested by residents
Albgaz and SOCAR of Azerbaijan will start the implementation of the Korca gasification project in a few months. The project, which is expected to start in 2025, is scheduled to be delivered in 2027.
But how much is the value of this project and how will the coverage of the city be realized?
20.8 million euros is the value needed for the gasification of the city of Korça, while most of the 13.3 million euros will have to be invested by the residents.
The details are included in the 10-year investment plan of the state gas company, ALBGAZ, where it is specified that 7 million euros are the municipality's projections for the value of investments that will replace the primary heating sources, such as wood, including boiler installations.
The required investments cover the pressure reduction and measurement station, a 5 km long pipeline from the TAP exit point to the city gate station, the city gas station, six main pipelines, with a total length of 27.5 km, as well as secondary pipelines, with a total length of 42.5 km, including connections.
According to the document, the number of consumers includes 30 institutions and 6074 housing units, as it is specified that for the success of the project it is critical that the municipality provides a budget for the construction of internal gas installations for the institutions under its management such as schools, kindergartens, museums or public office. The average price of natural gas is projected to be approximately 40 euros/mwh.
The Korça gasification project has been identified as an important project, while through a previous decision the government changed the Gas Master Plan, listing it among the priority projects in the short term.
