The agreement for the gasification of Korça - Balluku is signed: The project will start in 2025 and be delivered in 2027

Prime Minister Edi Rama and Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku met in Baku with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, from where a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, Albgaz and the state oil company in Azerbaijan, SOCAR , for the development of the gasification infrastructure of the city of Korça.
"Here in Baku, during the development of KOB 29 works, we also had a new agreement with the government of Azerbaijan regarding the gasification of Korca. This is very good news, which started and was conceived for a long time between Albgaz and SOCAR of Azerbaijan and is now becoming a reality. Our plans are to start work as soon as possible, starting with the entire engineering part, now that the visibility study is over. It is expected that this project will start in 2025, to be delivered in 2027. What we aim to do is to collect a whole distribution network throughout the city of Korça, on the other hand, mainly in the businesses that operate in this city."
According to Pelesh, this is good news that will help businesses as well as offer good living conditions to the citizens of Korça.
"Very good news for families, very good news for current businesses, for guesthouses, restaurants, hotels and other existing businesses, but also good news for new businesses who, when they think about where they will place their business, can there are more chances to choose Korca where we have a boom of alternative energy. This is a reduction in heating and cooking costs, but also a good quality of life. This is a healthier life.”
According to Deputy Prime Minister Balluku, the use of gas for heating and cooking will also contribute to the protection of the environment, since the area of Korça uses wood for heating.
