What are the results of food inspections? Citizens: They should be done more often, we are safer
The Ministry of Finance, the General Directorate of Taxes, and the Ministry of Agriculture are continuing actions to formalize the market for agricultural and livestock products and increase food security.
But, according to these actions, in just 12 days of the action to formalize this sector, 76.1 tons of goods were blocked while 209 entities were inspected.
This action is continuing to guarantee a formalized market, safe and traceable products, and protection for honest farmers and producers. But what is the opinion of citizens on these actions and how safe do they feel about food products?
" When control is more secure, it's normal that there is food safety. It gives us more confidence."
Regarding food safety, he's right. It's not allowed for a street vendor to go out and sell milk in the middle of the street in all this heat.
It's very important, health comes first. The more checks, the better.
"It is the effective duty of the NFA to conduct periodic inspections, " citizens say.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Administration, within the framework of food control actions, aim to formalize the sector and guarantee food safety for all citizens. And above all, to create a system where every link in the chain of production and trade of agricultural products is clean, controllable and at the service of the citizen.
But why is food traceability important?
Product traceability is a necessity for Albania on its path towards integration into the European Union. While the implementation of traceability will increase the credibility of Albanian products towards international markets, facilitate exports to the EU, improve food safety, as well as transparency and fight against informality in the economy, etc.
