Albania hosts 18 foreigners every minute! The world is discovering our country. High interest from Israel, Egypt and China
In the first half of 2025, Albania hosted over 4.76 million foreign nationals, marking an increase of 4.8% compared to the previous year. This is a position that confirms that our country is strengthening its role as a growing tourist destination, not only in the region, but also on a wider level. Translated into daily figures, this means that during each day of the first half of the year, Albania welcomed an average of 26 thousand foreign visitors, or about 1,083 entries per hour. Practically, every minute, 18 people from different countries of the world entered Albanian territory.
This year, Kosovo holds the top spot for the number of entries, with over 1.6 million visitors, a figure that translates into around 9,000 entries per day. Italy comes next, with over 510,000 entries, which means more than 3,000 Italians per day, or approximately 116 per hour. North Macedonia, Montenegro and Greece are next, all with over 300,000 entries each and an average rate of around 2,000 entries per day.
Germany, the United Kingdom, Turkey and France complete the 'Top 10' countries with the highest inflows into our country for the first half of 2025.
Meanwhile, if we talk about annual growth, Israel is the best example, with a 300% increase, from 4 thousand entries in 2024, to over 16 thousand this year. Similarly, India, China, Australia and Egypt have significant growth, signaling the expansion of interest in Albania from markets outside the European continent.
However, not all countries have had positive performance. Poland, Romania, Russia, Belarus, and Latvia have seen significant decreases in the number of entries. Despite having the highest number, entries from Kosovo have also marked a decrease of 4.6%.
