Tirana-Durrës highway opens for traffic at the end of December/ Balluku: One of the construction sites with the best performance in all of Albania
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, inspected the works at the Tirana-Durres highway construction site. According to the progress of the works, Balluku stated that the first section will be open to traffic by the end of December.
"We are in one of the construction sites that are progressing better, to be honest, in all of Albania, which is the Tirana-Durrës highway construction site. We are in the second phase of this construction site. The first phase has a good stable progress of 65% while the second phase has 80% progress. Now the Tirana-Durrës highway, in the first 6 km, starting from Casa Italia, and up to the Kashari overpass, turns into a type A highway, with a crown of 32.5 m width. We have three lanes on both sides plus an emergency lane that makes it 4 lanes on both sides. The progress of the project is very good. So, the first phase is 65% progress and in the second phase 85%", - said Balluku
Meanwhile, the ARRSH has also begun preparations for the greening and urban decoration of this highway. According to Deputy Prime Minister Balluku, there will also be a change within the Shqiponjës tunnels in terms of decoration, given that it is the main entrance to Tirana.
