"Achievements and challenges towards University 4.0"/ Report of the Accreditation Board of Higher Education Institutions Presented
The Report of the Accreditation Board of Higher Education Institutions, "Achievements and Challenges Towards University 4.0", a journey of transformation of Higher Education to respond to the challenges of the digital age, is presented. Prime Minister Edi Rama, present at the event, announced a review of the higher education law, to provide young people with a serious and competitive academic offer, in the conditions where Albania will soon become a member of the European Union.
"There is no question that the world is flying by, and in order to catch up and give the girls and boys of this country, but also others who may come to study in Albania, a serious and competitive academic offer, in the conditions where Albania will soon become a member of the European Union, we need to push forward with great force and address without hesitation those that are now clearly necessary to be addressed, starting with a review of the higher education law, which has taken years to be revised based on accumulated experience, but also on many new developments that have occurred in the academic world," Rama said.
In his speech, the Prime Minister referred as an example to the experience of the Agricultural University of Tirana in collaboration with the BOKU University of Vienna.
"I brought this example to tell you that it would be very valuable for you, to deal directly with this work, to see closely what has been done in that process and what is being done, but also to understand what challenges arise in achieving that kind of synergy and to see directly how the process of integration with a university among the most highly ranked in the world requires a change in our organizational system, requires a substantive change in the law on higher education and definitely requires a change in the managerial approach of universities," the Prime Minister emphasized.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this experience is truly a laboratory to see and understand both the distances that separate us from European excellence, but also the mechanisms that can bring us closer to European excellence.
