Albania's EU membership/Kos: Negotiations are progressing faster than ever!
European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, assessed that the European Union membership talks with Albania are progressing faster than ever.
Kos also noted that "progress in the negotiations is a clear sign of Albania's commitment and the continued support of the European Union, and the involvement of the whole of society will be essential to achieve Albania's goal of concluding the negotiations by 2027."
"The accession negotiations between Albania and the EU are progressing at an unprecedented pace, as we heard, with several important milestones already achieved in recent months and more to come," the commissioner assessed.
"We continue to maintain a very strong focus on reforms in the area of the rule of law and the fight against corruption. Albania is expected to further consolidate the very good progress in this area," she added.
The rapid progress in accession negotiations, according to Kos, "is a clear signal that we stand with Albania and are truly committed to marking a clear path for EU accession."
"Enlargement is a whole social project and will require the full participation of all Albanian society to achieve Albania's ambitions. The realistic goal of closing all negotiation chapters is by the end of 2027," she concluded.
