AKSHI: Services in "e-Albania" for citizens and businesses are free

The National Agency for the Information Society announced today that following publications in several media outlets, the news that "businesses will pay for every transaction in e-Albania" is not accurate.

In a public clarification, AKSHI announces that the electronic services of the e-Albania government portal continue to remain free for citizens and businesses in their usual use, except in cases where they have a fee determined by the legal basis in force of the service provider institution.

According to the AKSHI, the tariffs set out in the latest decision of the Council of Ministers relate only to private entities that wish to technically interact with electronic registers, state databases, i.e. for those parties that seek to integrate their electronic systems with the Government Interaction Platform (GG) for real-time data exchange.

"These fees do not apply to ordinary users of the portal, but only to entities that use advanced technical functionalities, dedicated to interaction between systems," the announcement states.

Also, NAKSHI clarifies that the fees for the electronic signature and electronic seal service have not changed.

According to the National Agency for Public Administration, a new electronic signature service has been added for citizens, which allows them to significantly reduce financial costs. Providing this signature is voluntary.

AKSH announces that through this service, many actions that previously required notary services or physical presence, such as signing contracts, declarations or authorizations, can now be carried out completely online, with equal legal force.

"This avoids notary fees, travel and other expenses associated with physical documents," the announcement says.

AKSHI announces that the first services that will soon be offered as "trusted services", where citizens will use electronic signatures, are special power of attorney, a notarial declaration, through which one of the parents authorizes the other parent (or both parents of a family member) to accompany a minor under 16 years of age to travel outside the territory of Albania.
