ALL 885 million for the sewage system in Spille - The project aims at the tourist development of the area
The National Water Supply and Sewerage Agency has opened the tender for the new water supply and sewage system in the tourist area of Spille. The estimated value is 885 million and 371 thousand ALL.
This project is part of a broad planning for the development of the area, which aims to increase the capacities for tourism, improving infrastructural and sanitary conditions.
The construction of sewers serves the community of this village with about 3,310 inhabitants, as well as the high number of tourists visiting this destination.
According to the authorities of the Administrative Unit, Spilleja attracts 2,400 vacationing tourists and over 15,000 daily visitors from the areas of Kavaja, Elbasan and Durrës. The estimated number of overnight visitors to the area has grown steadily over the last 4 years, and so have tourism earnings.
Meanwhile, in the published document, it is stated that the infrastructure of the sewage system in general is in a deplorable state. Therefore, in order to improve the existing sanitary conditions and to avoid potential risks, for the health of the local population and tourists mainly in the coastal areas, the Albanian government has decided that after the implementation of the water supply projects, they will have to be followed by the construction of new sewerage system and facilities for the treatment of used water.
AKUK has made available funds for the design of used water sewers and their treatment plant in the tourist area of Spille. The project will be designed in accordance with all the norms and standards for design provided by the legislation in force.
The relative importance of tourism in this area can be seen from the fact that out of 61 businesses that are functional in the tourist area of the municipality, 51 depend on tourism. These businesses are directly related to tourism - accommodation, restaurants, bars with 10 other businesses, which are also highly dependent on tourism demand.
