8.4 million euros for the access road to Shkodër - ARRSH announces the winner for the Bërdica curve-Ura e Bahçallek axis
The construction of the new road for the entrance to the city of Shkodra will cost about 8.4 million euros. The Albanian Road Authority has announced the consortium of companies that will carry out the works, about 1 month after the opening of the tender. 6 companies participated in the competition, while the offer of the merger of the operators "Kupa", "AL-ASFALT" and "Sireta 2F" received more points from the Bid Evaluation Commission.
The project includes the construction of the turning axis of Bërdica - Bahçallek Bridge, while the tender documents specified that this segment will serve as a reconciliation of the geometric and functional parameters of the existing access road to the city of Shkodra as well as the connection with the existing Bahçallek bridge.
The existing bridge is expected to be preserved and will be functional even with its duplication parallel to the existing bridge. This is because with the new road, the construction of a new bridge will be foreseen, parallel to the existing bridge, emphasizing that the new bridge should not for any reason affect the safety or stability of the existing bridge. This bridge would accommodate traffic moving in the direction of Tirana, while the existing bridge will serve only for traffic moving in the direction of Shkodra.
The new road will be of category D, with 2 lanes for each direction of movement and with a sidewalk wider than 1.5 m on both sides.
