286 billion lek was withdrawn from ATMs in 9 months - Limited number of ATMs that also include the money deposit service

ATMs in Albania are increasing, while their use by citizens to withdraw or deposit money has also increased in the first nine months of this year.
Currently, our country has 1337 ATMs with transfer order, cash withdrawal and deposit functions. According to the latest data from the Bank of Albania, ATMs that serve only for cash withdrawal have grown at a faster rate than those for transfer order and deposit. Despite being a service that is highly sought after by citizens, the number of ATMs equipped with the cash deposit function remains only 427 out of 1287 that also serve for cash withdrawal.
Due to this lack, to transfer money to their checking account or when they have to repay credit card obligations, citizens are forced to appear at physical bank branches.
Statistics show that in 9 months, 16.2 million cash withdrawals by card at ATMs and 1.4 million deposits were made.
On the other hand, 286 billion lek is the amount of money that has been withdrawn by Albanians through ATMs, while 70.6 billion lek is the money deposited.
However, after a continuous increase, in September it turns out that Albanians have withdrawn less money from ATMs.
Rural or remote areas often report fewer ATMs, indicating more limited access to banking services by citizens, while Tirana leads the way.
ATMs provide 24-hour access to banking services, which is especially useful outside of regular banking hours. They help reduce the need to visit bank branches for routine transactions, reducing queues and waiting periods.
Modern ATMs are equipped with powerful security measures such as encryption and anti-skimming technology, guaranteeing secure transactions.
