21 fires in the country, 3 are still active - AKMC: High risk expected in Fier region
21 fire outbreaks have been recorded in the last 24 hours in the country, of which 3 are still active according to the National Civil Protection Agency and 18 have been extinguished. The active outbreaks are in the Vlora region in the mountains above the village of Dhivër, the Finiq municipality in the Saranda district, where the fire continues to spread over the Cerkovica, Llupsat and Shëndre areas, in a forest area with pine trees and low vegetation.
In the Berat district, the area of the former Poliçan Mechanical Plant, where 7 firefighting vehicles, 40 MZSH personnel from Poliçan, Berat and Skrapar are on the ground, 20 municipal forces and 1 firefighting vehicle with a team from the Armed Forces. In the field for the complete isolation, 34 personnel with 10 firefighting vehicles from the MZSH of Finiqi, Saranda, Delvina, Konispoli, Gjirokastra, Himara and Dropulli, 30 volunteer forces, municipal forces, forestry personnel and 30 FA personnel with air support from the Armed Forces have been engaged.
Meanwhile, in the village of Lofkënd, Mallakastër municipality, the fire has engulfed an area of pine trees and has spread due to strong winds. In the fire extinguishing operations, 41 firefighting vehicles and 314 operational forces were engaged, assisted by the Armed Forces with 30 personnel, 3 firefighting vehicles with crews and air support. According to AKMC, high risk is expected in the Fier region for fires, low risk in Kukës, Dibër, Korçë and moderate risk in other regions.
