"1.4 million liters of fuel were saved for Albanians" - Balluku:

The services provided to citizens by the General Directorate of Road Transport Services have improved significantly from 2018 onwards, offering more access, convenience and transparency.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Baluku, praised DPSHTRR as the institution that first applied innovation and transformed services.

According to Balluku, currently, in addition to the Regional Directorates, 17 new service offices have been opened throughout the country, doubling territorial coverage and saving drivers, in addition to time, approximately 1.4 million liters of fuel.

"Today, in addition to the regional directorates, we also have 17 new service offices throughout the country and a doubling of territorial coverage. 424,925 more services provided compared to 2018. And today we offer 9 times more services. 21 million km saved from the newly opened offices; 1.4 million liters of fuel; 260 million lek less expenses and 2 polygons that are training centers under European conditions."

According to Balluku, one of the other important innovations has to do with road safety, regarding the application of a rigorous process for the retraining of drivers who lose license points.

"We have had 2359 re-registrations, only 13.4% have passed the test, guaranteeing that only disciplined drivers are allowed back on the road. The margin is very low, forcing these drivers to take re-discipline seriously."

Regarding vehicle inspection, Balluku emphasized that in addition to the service being transformed and made simpler, from 2020 to now, nearly 1.6 million vehicles have undergone inspection, with 491,112 failing the test.
