Modernization of the electricity network in Kukës - Investment of 98.6 million lekë for quality energy

The Regional Directorate of the Kukës Public Distribution System (OSSH) has announced the opening of the competition for the reconstruction of the low voltage network in Tërthora, Kukës, with a limit fund of 98 million and 619 thousand lekë.
Referring to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, an appropriate electrical infrastructure must be developed for the area, to guarantee a quality service to current consumers and at the same time be in line with the expected long-term developments of the area.
The project includes the reconstruction of the low voltage network and the reconstruction of the cabins in Terthora. This project is necessary, as this area currently has high technical losses, as well as a low voltage network outside technical conditions, with depreciated poles.
The project covers a geographical area of 40 km² and about 600 household and private subscribers. So, 85% are household subscribers, 10% private subscribers and 5% are budget and non-budget subscribers. There are no industrial consumers in the project area. The area is developed with existing constructions before the '90s, as well as new constructions. The main structural element of the project is the reconstruction with ABC cable and the reconstruction of cabins in Tërthora, Feeder No. 6 - 10 kV exits from the Rexhepaj 110/35/10 KV substation and continues in different directions to the end point "Dogana Morinë cabin".
This investment is planned to be carried out because the area in which the project is being developed has a high trend of increasing demand for energy, as well as the area has poor quality of supply. Urban development in this area has brought about an increase in demand for electricity consumption. Meanwhile, the construction of the new substation will reduce technical losses of electricity, increase the quality of distributed energy, reduce the number of defects and guarantee safety in its use. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the quality of electricity distribution, the document states.
