Serbian students demand early elections - Collect signatures in Belgrade for a new beginning

Serbian students collected signatures in Belgrade to garner support for their movement's demand for early parliamentary elections. Crowds of people, including families with children, lined up at tables to sign documents and leave their contact details in a show of solidarity with the student-led protest.
"The purpose of today's action is to show the level of support for the student movement," said a student named Jana. She added that they were collecting contact information to provide updates on "next steps and actions."
The movement has attracted support from prominent public figures who see it as a new force for change.
"I think this is a great idea," said Serbian actor Tihomir Stanic after signing the agreement. "This student movement cannot be compared to previous ways of fighting this government. This is authentic, new and different from anything else."
The protests began a year ago after the roof of a railway station collapsed in the northern city of Novi Sad, killing 16 people. The incident sparked public anger over alleged corruption and a lack of accountability, exacerbated by a lack of prosecutions a year later.
