RMV, foreign direct investments double - FDI flow reached 840 million euros in the January-September period
Foreign direct investments (FDI) in North Macedonia have marked a significant increase during the period January-September 2024. According to data published by the Central Bank, the flow of FDI reached 838.2 million euros, more than double compared to 348.4 million euros recorded in the same period last year. This large increase is an indicator that North Macedonia has aroused the interest of foreigners and has created a favorable environment for investments.
The industry sector has had a significant impact on this growth, with many investments being focused on the manufacturing and processing of goods sector, as well as on technology and innovation. In addition, the energy and infrastructure sectors have also attracted significant investment.
The Central Bank of Macedonia has announced that investments are mainly focused on the reinvestment of profits and loans between the parent company and its subsidiaries, which have contributed to a high flow of capital.
The increase in foreign investments is evident especially in the third quarter of 2024, where the flow reached 281.6 million euros, a much higher figure than the 60.3 million euros that were registered in the same period last year. In addition to industry, investors are also attracted by the opportunities offered by the service sector and the government's assistance in creating favorable conditions for sustainable economic development.
Compared to previous years, North Macedonia has significantly increased foreign direct investments, exceeding last year, when they reached 616.7 million euros, while in 2022 they were 745 million euros. This growth trend proves the progress the country has made in improving investment conditions, such as lowering taxes and creating a more modern infrastructure.
