Kosovo, 100% of votes for political parties counted - Vetëvendosje leads with 40.08%, Democratic Party ranks second
The Central Election Commission in Kosovo has closed the process of counting all regular votes for political entities, approximately two weeks after the February 9 elections.
The Commission's website shows that the vote counting has been completed 100% in 2,533 polling stations. As a result, the Vetëvendosje Movement is the first party with 40.80% or 342,281 votes, 609 votes more than in the previous update. The Democratic Party is ranked second with 22.03% or 184,811 votes.
In third place we find the Democratic League of Kosovo with 17.63% or 147,888 votes and in fourth place the AAK-Nisma coalition with 7.46% and 62,588 votes.
Preliminary results do not include conditional votes, votes of people with special needs, and votes of the diaspora.
The CEC has announced that in 31 municipalities in the country, the process of counting the votes of candidates for deputies in the Assembly of Kosovo has been completed, while in 7 others this process is still ongoing.
Despite its election victory, the Vetëvendosje Movement must negotiate a coalition with other parties to form the new government, which will lead the country for the next 4 years.
