Croatia's economic performance shows a GDP growth rate of 0.9% in the fourth quarter of 2025, down from 2.3% in the third quarter, according to the Zagreb Institute of Economics (EIZ). In the last quarter of 2024, Croatia's annual GDP growth was 3.9%.

The assessment is based on the Economic Index, which decreased by 0.81 points in October compared to the same month in 2024. All components of the index recorded an increase in October compared to the same month in 2024.

Among the index components, three of them showed higher seasonally adjusted values in October 2025 compared to September: real retail trade, industrial production and the number of tourist arrivals, while the VAT revenue component recorded a lower monthly seasonally adjusted value.

A more accurate assessment of GDP growth in October-November will be possible when index values for November and December 2025 become available, the institute said.

Croatia's Statistical Office will publish its first estimate of GDP growth for the fourth quarter of 2025 on February 27.

The government approved the draft state budget for 2026 in November, which projects economic growth of 2.7%, down from the 3.2% expected for 2025 and lower than the real growth of 3.8% in 2024.
