US, over 200 billion USD investments in Britain/ Trump-Starmer meeting, focus on

US President Donald Trump will meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for talks aimed more at global political issues, as well as economic investment in the country.

After a day of lavish ceremonies, during which Trump rode in a carriage alongside King Charles and attended a state dinner, the US president and Starmer will announce a $205 billion investment package from the US to Britain. The total includes a £100 billion long-term investment pledge from private equity firm Blackstone, as well as £3.9 billion from Prologis in the life sciences and advanced manufacturing sectors.

The agreements, which cover areas such as technology, energy and life sciences, will serve as a renewal of the "special relationship" between the two nations, something Starmer has been working hard to build on since Trump came to power in January.

Trump, speaking alongside King Charles at Windsor, the world's oldest and largest inhabited castle, described the visit as "one of the greatest honors" of his life.

Starmer will highlight agreements reached between the two countries, including a new technology pact with companies such as Microsoft, Nvidia, Google and OpenAI, which have pledged $42 billion in investment in the coming years, in areas such as artificial intelligence and civil nuclear energy.

The British prime minister will also shift his focus to international affairs, hoping to persuade the American leader to take a stronger stance against Russia over the war in Ukraine. He is also expected to discuss with Trump Israel's ongoing attacks on Gaza.
