Who is the typical candidate for MP? A man, over 40 years old, lives in Tirana and is involved in politics
"Scan Intel" has often brought different profiles based on official data from INSTAT or EUROSTAT, emerging as an "identity" of an average Albanian, an average family or an average Albanian immigrant.
From an in-depth analysis of the lists deposited with the Central Election Commission, a clear average profile emerges for the candidates of the two main parties in the country, the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party. The indicators are not simply a number, but a picture that tells us a lot about the way these parties represent citizens. However, we must emphasize that these figures refer to the concept of the average or median.
The typical Democratic Party candidate is a man around 47, with experience in politics and previous involvement in party structures, self-employed, a teacher or a doctor. According to the names on the lists, about 60% of them belong to the male gender and 40% belong to the female gender. Most of them live in large cities such as Tirana, Elbasan, Shkodra or Durrës and have a stable public profile, being active on social networks.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, the Socialist Party candidate is a man around 43 years old. This is because about 60% of the list consists of men and about 40% of women. It turns out that he is involved in administration or public institutions. A large proportion of them are deputies, ministers, but they also work in the field of education. From the data we can say that he lives in Tirana, but we do not exclude the possibility that he also lives in other regions such as Korça, Durrës, Elbasan or Vlorë.
We emphasize once again that this is a hypothetical profile of a candidate participating in the May 11th Parliamentary Elections, based on an average of some of the indicators that are based on official statistics of the submitted lists.
