Meanwhile, ALPEX has also reported the figures for the Intraday Auction Market, which began to develop in December 2024. Thus, for the period January - December, a total volume of almost 24,000 mWh of electricity was traded on this ALPEX market, with an average clearing price of 150 euros/mWh.

Referring to this data, it results that the transaction value amounts to around 270 million euros, 226.5 million of which for the day-ahead market.

The Albanian Electricity Exchange, ALPEX, began operations on April 11, 2023, while its operation presents a number of advantages related to competitive prices, as well as providing a transparent price signal for energy investments. The challenge, however, remains to increase the volumes traded through this instrument.
