Taxes, new deadline for declaring personal income - DIVA, 'tool' for wealth control, fine for those who do not declare
Taxes have established new conditions and deadlines for the declaration of personal income. This year, all those individuals who, during 2023, have been paid over 100,000 ALL per month must make the declaration. The deadline for declaration is March 31, 2025.
All employees who during 2024 had a gross salary over ALL 100,000 per month, must submit for the first time the Individual Declaration of Personal Income for the past year by March 31.
With the 2023 income tax law, it was decided that only those who receive over 2 million lek per year (over 166 thousand lek per month) will no longer have the obligation to submit DIVA, but the threshold was reduced to 1.2 million ALL/year.
The deadline for submitting the annual declaration is no longer April 30, but for the first time it will be March 31, 2025. This declaration will also be submitted by double-employed persons and those with incomes over ALL 50,000 per month for which there is no paid tax. Those who do not submit the declaration are fined 3,000 Lek, to which interest and interest are also added.
Completing this statement serves the Tax Administration to make checks for fiscal evasion as well as to investigate the property. Based on the Mid-Term Income Strategy 2024-2027, the DIVA statements will be subject to analysis by the tax administration and will serve as a basis for comparing the declared income with the assets available to the individual.
The DIVA 2024 statement is automatically generated pre-filled in e-Filing with the data of gross annual income from wages or bonuses from employment relationships for individuals, as well as with the calculation of Income Tax from Employment.
