Albania elected to the Council of the International Maritime Organization!
The Ministry of Defense announced today that Albania has been elected to the Council of the International Maritime Aid Organization (IALA), a fact that demonstrates "our country's commitment to international cooperation."
This membership intensifies our country's role and efforts in promoting the highest standards in the field of maritime assistance.
"This choice represents an important step in contributing to a safer and more sustainable future for the marine environment," the ministry emphasizes in its announcement.
At the first General Assembly of this organization, Albania was represented by the Commander of the Naval Force/Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Adnand Agastra, who emphasized the need for an advanced maritime assistance system.
He emphasized the importance of facilitating sustainable maritime transport and protecting the marine environment, especially in the Mediterranean ecosystem.
