"Albania, a site for transformations" - Diaspora Summit, Rama: Be part

From the fourth Albanian Diaspora Summit, Prime Minister Edi Rama has invited all Albanian emigrants wherever they live to become part of Albania's transformation, through investments in every sector of the economy.

"The Albanian diaspora is at the center of Albanian life. This country is a construction site of transformations that invites the diaspora to participate. Participation in investments, in innovation and in academic life, in building the future of Albania. As in every construction site, in the construction site of Albania 2030 in the EU, there is dust, there is dirt, there is noise, but it is enough to look back to the time when we started thinking about the first diaspora summit, to continue the colossal work that we have started."

The Prime Minister focused on the "Mountain Package" as one of the best instruments for investing in the homeland and generating income.

"Albania is no longer an untouchable path, but an open path of opportunity. And in all possibilities, I chose to bring the "Mountain Package"0 for all those who have left their land in the mountains to seek a better life outside Albania. The mountains have always been far from the developments of this country, today the blessed day has come when the mountains can become part of the well-being of Albanians. Today, for the first time, we have Albania trusted by the world and the Albanians of the world with faith in Albania. Therefore, I say to all Albanians who have a piece of land somewhere on a mountain or hill to take the mountain package in their hands and turn it into a source of well-being. They will earn more at the end of the month than they earn working for others outside their homeland."

According to Rama, the diaspora should become part of a major national project and of Albania, which aims to be equal to all other European countries by 2030.

"I came here to make the repeated invitation to reconnect actively. To reconnect to see Albania not as a country that the diaspora left behind, but as a country that is becoming a European state and that in its shaping needs everyone, both Albanians inside and those outside. An invitation to be part of a great national project, because it is as great as the bequest of all those since Gjergj Kastrioti and Ismail Qemali. A bequest that definitely requires Albania and the Albanian nation at the common table of that family that we are finally getting ready to be an inseparable part of."

The Prime Minister mentioned as one of the achievements the realization of the diaspora's request to participate in the general elections in Albania.
