Albania and Ukraine strengthen cooperation on the management of seized and confiscated assets!
The Agency for the Administration of Seized and Confiscated Assets of the Republic of Albania (AAPSK) and the National Agency of Ukraine for the Search, Tracing and Management of Assets Arising from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA) signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening institutional ties and exchanging experiences in the field of administration of seized and confiscated assets.
The agreement was signed in Warsaw, where both countries participated in the IV EU-Eastern Partnership Legal Forum, by Risena Xhaja, Chief Administrator of AAPSK, and Olena Duma, Director of ARMA, marking an important step towards building a joint platform for increasing effectiveness in the fight against corruption and other crimes with economic impact.
The document foresees cooperation in areas such as:
· exchange of best practices for the management and reuse of seized and confiscated assets;
· organizing seminars, webinars and joint forums;
· creation of joint working groups and research projects;
· developing relations with international organizations.
" This agreement marks not only technical cooperation, but also a joint commitment to strengthening the rule of law and the use of seized and confiscated assets for the benefit of the public," said Xhaja.
"Partnerships like this are essential to ensuring a coordinated and effective approach to illicit assets at the international level ," Duma said.
The agreement enters into force immediately and will serve as a basis for information exchange and the development of a number of joint activities for the upcoming period.
