Shalsi: The donation platform at QSUT guarantees transparency, needs are met

The Vice-Chairman of the Health Commission, Eduart Shalsi, explained that publishing equipment needs on the QSUT donation platform is a regular and legally binding procedure, which aims to guarantee transparency and responsible administration of public assets.
According to him, the identification of needs goes through an institutional process between the QSUT and the General Directorate, through the Directorate of Clinical Engineering. Shalsi emphasized that the announcement was published in February and that, currently, all the needs listed have been met. He also explained that the announced equipment can be obtained through procurement procedures or removed from the list if offered as a donation.
"The identification of needs goes through several processes and there is a correspondence between the QSUT and the General Directorate, through the Directorate of Clinical Engineering, so part of the process are the needs that, due to transparency, due to the right to information, due to the responsibility of administering public property, must be published. It is a procedure that has been there, the announcement was made in February, it is done regularly.
Today, as we speak, all those needs have been met, because if you were to consult with genuine specialists, you would understand that they are advertised and then they can be procured. If someone offers, they are removed from the procurement. This is a platform that we can discuss whether it works 100%, whether it can be improved better. This should be the level of debate that we should have if we are really concerned about what can be improved in the health system," said Shalsi.
