New road to enter Shkodra - Works begin, Balluku: We hope to complete it before the contractual deadline
After the tender procedures and the conclusion of the contract, work has begun on the construction of the new road to enter the city of Shkodra.
According to the contractual deadlines, the works are expected to be completed in a year, but the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, emphasized the need for their completion earlier.
Meanwhile, the head of the Albanian Road Authority announced the details of the project, which includes the construction of the Bërdicë - Bahçalëkut Bridge axis.
The winning consortium of companies carrying out the works was announced in November last year, with a bid of 8.4 million euros, excluding VAT.
At that time, it was specified that the existing bridge is expected to be preserved and will be functional even with its duplication with a parallel bridge. This bridge will accommodate traffic moving in the direction of Tirana, while the existing bridge will serve only for traffic moving in the direction of Shkodra.
