Oil price hike hits public transport - Associations: From Monday, 30% fewer urban transport. 3 demands for institutions

From Monday, the public transport bus fleet will be reduced by 30%, if there is no reaction from the institutions regarding the increase in fuel prices. In a media release, the associations representing economic operators said that they are facing numerous difficulties due to the increase in costs, but so far there has been no reaction from central or local institutions.
They reiterated the demands, which according to them would ensure the continuity and sustainability of this service in the interest of citizens.
Representatives of the associations said that despite continuous requests to the responsible institutions, no concrete measures have been taken to address this situation.
Requirements of transport associations
1- Review of the fiscal burden on fuel, especially in terms of excise duty and sales tax
2- Evaluation of a special policy for the public transport sector for the abolition of VAT
3- Application of subsidy or compensation mechanisms
