Goods processing at the port of Durres increases by 15% - Exports dominated the expansion during 10 months
The containerized cargo processing segment at the Port of Durres has recorded a positive performance during the period January-October 2025. The Durres Port Authority announces that containerized cargo processing volumes have increased by 15%, with 189,835 containers handled or 15% more than a year ago. This indicator reflects the intensification of containerized cargo flows and the increase in supply chain efficiency.
Likewise, this growth is also accompanied by a stronger trade dynamic, where imports have increased by 14% while exports are the ones that dominate with 16%, reflecting a progressively more solid growth in the international transport of containerized goods, thus ranking the Port of Durres as one of the most consolidated logistics hubs in the region.
The Port of Durres is Albania's main port, which continues to play an important role in facilitating the movement of people and goods, confirming its strategic importance in the country's economy.
Meanwhile, according to the Durrës Port Authority, a total of 1 million 745 thousand 776 tons of goods were processed, registering an increase of 2% compared to the same period last year.
The Port of Durres continues to remain the most important maritime and logistical hub of Albania, efficiently meeting market demands and ensuring modern standards in its operations. The positive trend confirms the strengthening of the port's role in the country's economic development and its integration into regional and international transport networks.
