Passenger flow increases at the Port of Saranda/ Deputy Prime Minister Balluku: 140,600 passengers in September alone
The Port of Saranda, as the southern gateway to tourism in the country, has continued to record a significant increase in passenger traffic during the month of September.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku announced on social networks the passenger figures for September, as well as for the 9-month period of this year.
According to data, 140,600 passengers entered and exited the Port of Saranda in September alone, an increase of 29% compared to September 2024, which recorded 108,824 passengers entering and exiting.
Meanwhile, during the 9-month period, 686,400 passengers entered and exited the port, 23% more than the same period in 2024, which recorded 557,880 passengers.
According to Prime Minister Balluku, this trend proves that interest in the southern area remains high even beyond the summer season, reflecting a sustainable expansion of the tourism sector. The Port of Saranda serves not only the city, but the entire southern riviera, being a key connecting point for domestic and foreign visitors.
The seaport of Saranda is consolidating itself as one of the most important entry points for tourism in southern Albania. With the continuous increase in tourist flow, Saranda is affirming itself as one of the most preferred destinations for summer holidays, not only for domestic visitors, but also for thousands of foreign tourists who choose the Albanian Riviera for its natural beauties.
