New rules for tour operators - “Technical managers with experience in tourism, diploma and foreign languages”
Businesses that offer tourism services will be required to have as a technical manager an individual with special criteria, starting from a diploma in this field, experience, and protected foreign languages.
In the draft decision on the requirements and criteria for the exercise of the activity of a tourist operator, submitted for public consultation, it is argued that tourist operators, having as the head of their activity an educated person, who holds a university degree of the first cycle of studies or has graduated from vocational secondary school in accordance with the scope of the business activity, as well as having previous work experience in the field of tourism, will enable the provision of a better quality service to the client and will increase the demand in the market for its service.
According to the draft decision, the tourist operator is represented during the exercise of the activity by the legal representative (administrator) and the technical director.
The technical manager must prove that he/she has had work experience in such tourist activities as: travel agency, accommodation facility, tourist operator, marine tourist operator or tourist guide, or in other fields in the field of tourism. The technical manager must be employed only in a tourist operator, in the capacity of technical manager.
As well as for the purposes of exercising his/her activity, he/she must prove that he/she possesses a foreign language, through a certificate, diploma or a similar document, issued by an entity certified by the ministry responsible for education for the organization of international tests, at level B2, and must also prove that he/she possesses a second foreign language, through a certificate, diploma or a similar document, issued by an entity certified by the ministry responsible for education for the organization of international tests, at level B1.
