Retesting for the license, drivers are "filtered" - Not everyone gets their driving license back! Only 13.8% of candidates pass

Not all those who lose their driving license manage to regain it easily. Only 6 candidates have successfully passed the latest retest, out of 36 people re-registered to regain their driving license. The figures are made public by the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, which emphasizes the importance of preparation and responsibility of drivers in traffic.
Since the start of the campaign in June 2022, 3,505 candidates have re-registered. Of these, only 485, or 13.8%, have managed to regain their driving license.
According to the authorities, these are indicators that the retest aims to ensure the return to traffic of better prepared and more responsible drivers. Before the test, candidates can practice through official DPSHTRR resources, including online simulation and mobile phone applications.
Meanwhile, new amendments to the Highway Code have entered into force four days ago.
The new measures aim to increase road safety, raise driver awareness and reduce the number of accidents. With the new changes, measures have been tightened against dangerous behavior on the road, failure to regulate speed on roads with limited visibility, including aggressive maneuvers, which are considered among the behaviors that significantly increase the risk of accidents.
Another change in the Road Code is the removal of the conversion of the suspension of a driving license, issued by the Albanian state, with the payment of an amount equal to twice the maximum administrative measure provided for the violated norm.
The message from the authorities is clear: the roads require responsible drivers. For those who need to regain their driving license, the figures show that preparing for the retest is not just a formality.
