Rainfall increases flows in the Drini cascade/ Koman and Vau i Dejës HPPs,

The heavy rainfall of recent days has caused a number of problems in several regions of the country. The problems have been with the overflowing of rivers, as well as the increase in water levels in the country's main hydroelectric power plants.

Currently, flows have increased in the Drini Cascade and water discharges have begun in the Koman and Vau i Dejës HPPs, while not yet in Fierzë.

According to data from the Albanian Electric Power Corporation, natural flows in the cascade have reached high values. At the Fierza HPP, around 2300 m³/sec, at the Koman HPP 1150 m³/sec, while at the Vau i Dejës HPP 400 m³/sec.

In total, the flows are estimated at around 3850 m 3 /second.

Meanwhile, Fierza is 285 m, Koman is 174.13 m and Vau i Dejës is 75 m.

Regarding discharges, 0 m³/sec is reported in Fierza, 1200 m³/sec in Koman, and 1600 m³/sec in Vau e Dejës. Final discharges in Vau e Dejës remain at this level, 1600 m³/sec, while the total volume accumulation in the cascade is estimated at around 2250 m³/sec, concentrated mainly in Lake Fierza.

In this situation, daily energy production is reported at 12,130 MWh, while the Albanian Power Corporation announces that it is continuously monitoring the situation, ensuring safe and efficient management of water resources.
