Intense rainfall, Vengu calls on Civil Emergencies - Increased monitoring in Lezha and Durrës, institutions on alert
Defense Minister Pirro Vengu convened the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Civil Emergencies, where the situation created by the intense rainfall over the last 24 hours in the country was discussed.
During the meeting, a detailed analysis of the situation on the ground was conducted, focusing on the areas most affected by floods, landslides, and infrastructure problems.
Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu requested full readiness of all institutions, continuous coordination between central and local structures, as well as continuous monitoring of the situation, to guarantee the safety of citizens and minimize damage.
The situation is being monitored with priority in the Lezha and Durrës regions, where water has been detected on several road axes and significant increases in river levels. According to IGJEO, intense rainfall is expected to continue until January 8.
