First snowfall/Balluku: Teams on the ground, traffic continues normally
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, announced today that the first snowfalls have arrived earlier this year, but the Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH) and the companies contracted for road maintenance have intervened immediately to guarantee safe traffic on national axes.
According to the announcement, despite the official winter maintenance season starting on November 15, snow removal vehicles and work teams have been on the ground since the early hours of this morning in areas with precipitation, on the Ura e Zapodit–Shishtavec axis and in Theth.
Balluku praised the timely response of the ARA structures and emphasized that readiness will continue without interruption to respond to any possible situation.
"The first snow came early this year. The Albanian Road Administration and road maintenance companies were fully prepared, despite the fact that winter maintenance starts on November 15 according to the regulation. Snow removal vehicles and teams of employees have been on the ground since the early hours of today on the Ura e Zapodit–Shishtavec axis and in Theth. Traffic continues normally on all national axes ," she emphasized.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy appeals for increased caution from drivers, especially in mountainous areas, and recalls that national roads are under constant monitoring to ensure road safety and smooth traffic.
