Rama: Opening of negotiations, recognition of progress in increasing equality before the law
The survey funded by the Swedish government, to measure citizen perception on the level of security in our country and trust in the State Police, was presented today at the Ministry of Interior.
Prime Minister Edi Rama today praised the work of the State Police, while emphasizing that there is a large gap between the public's perception of order and security in Albania and what appears in distorted images for political, commercial and media interests.
Rama quoted Aristotle when he said that "the only stable state is one in which all people are equal before the law."
"Never before has Albania been more mobilized than today to achieve the level of equality before the law, which on the one hand has been confirmed to us as an undeniable fact by the opening of negotiations with the European Union, which are neither a gift nor a purely political decision, but are a statement of the progress made primarily in terms of increasing the level of equality before the law," Rama added.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister emphasized that "this places us daily face to face with the challenge of continuously increasing that level of equality that enhances the sustainability of individual freedoms, democratic coexistence and the rule of law."
Rama also said that the survey results are a clear indicator that there is progress, there is progress, but that those figures reflect what is collected from the public and not any will outside of the public's complete freedom to express itself.
"That's why they have that naturalness and constant stability. If you look, listen and read what appears, what is said and written about the State Police for order and security in Albania, this is a place for everyone to run away, where there is no order, no security," Rama added.
