Oil price drops to 207 lek/liter, Transparency Board publishes new prices

The Transparency Board decided to reduce fuel prices at its meeting held on April 15, 2026, reflecting fluctuations in international markets.
According to the decision, the maximum retail price for SSH EN 590 standard diesel is set at 207 lek per liter, while the wholesale price is set at 195 lek per liter. Meanwhile, for gasoline, the maximum retail price will be 174 lek per liter and 162 lek per liter in the wholesale market.
The new prices came into effect today, April 15, at 1:30 p.m. and will remain valid until the next Board meeting.
The authorities call on oil by-product trading operators to strictly implement this decision, warning of strict measures in case of violations, up to and including suspension of activity.
The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, reiterate their commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring fair competition in the market.
In an additional clarification, it is announced that current prices are below the limits set by Normative Act No. 1, dated April 3, 2026, which means that the excise duty level will continue to be applied in full, at 100%.
