Bad weather in the country, MIE: 21 feeders out of order and over 1,000 employees on the ground to restore power

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has announced the measures taken to cope with the situation created by the bad weather last evening and early morning hours.
Intense rainfall and strong winds caused problems in several areas of the country, while working groups under the Ministry have continued interventions on the ground to normalize the situation.
Traffic continues normally on national road axes. Albanian Road Authority teams have intervened to clear the roads of stones and fallen materials, while the ARRSH continues to continuously monitor the condition of the axes.
Regarding the electricity supply, currently 21 feeders are out of service, mainly in the areas of Vlora, Fier, Saranda and Librazhd. In the early hours of the morning, the Livadhja Substation was restored to service, enabling the supply of electricity to several areas.
The OSSH has engaged over 1,000 employees on the ground to restore electricity supply. Meanwhile, all 400 kV, 220 kV and 110 kV transmission lines are in normal operation.
The ministry also announces that the situation in the Drin River basin appears calm and without problems.
In the water supply sector, in Saranda and Ksamil, the wastewater pumping stations have returned to normal operation. In Durrës, a defect in an electric pump at the Çerma pumping station was repaired within a few hours.
In Fier, the defect at the Kafaraj station was repaired around 02:00, restoring normal water supply to the city. Meanwhile, the city of Patos continues to be without water supply due to a lack of electricity at the Varibop station.
At Tirana Airport, several minor delays have been recorded in arriving flights due to meteorological conditions.
Meanwhile, in the Port of Durres, the storm has caused the collapse of several empty containers at the Container Terminal, where 8 of them have suffered significant damage. Coordination with the relevant companies continues for a full assessment of the damage. In the rest of the port, activity continues normally.
