Over 712 thousand passengers in January - What were the most popular destinations at Tirana Airport?

The first month of 2026 ended with positive indicators for Tirana International Airport, with 712,030 passengers registered and 4,238 flights operated. According to TIA, these data confirm a stable start to the year in terms of air traffic and international connections.
During this month, TIA connected Albania with 71 destinations in 21 countries, operated by 17 airlines. The consolidated and diversified network of destinations has enabled the maintenance of a stable flow of travelers, despite the off-season period.
Meanwhile, according to data from TIA, the most sought-after destinations for January 2026 were Milan, London, Rome, Pisa and Venice.
January marks a positive start to 2026. On the other hand, according to official statistics published by the Airports Council International (ACI), Tirana International Airport processed a total of 11.6 million passengers during 2025. This result represents an increase of 8.7% compared to 2024, reflecting the continued growth in demand for air travel and the development of the tourism sector.
During 2025, 15 new destinations and 7 partner airlines were added. With a network of 83 destinations, 27 airlines and connections to 25 countries, TIA is offering more choices to Albanian passengers while strengthening Albania’s connections with Europe. TIA remains the main travel gateway for Albanians and visitors choosing to fly from Tirana.
