Malaj: Package of over 14 billion lek to support farmers and investments in agriculture

The Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, stated that the government continues to support farmers, domestic production and the development of the rural economy through a financial package of over 14 billion lek, oriented towards increasing investments and competitiveness in the agricultural sector.
On the occasion of Rural Development Day, Malaj announced that 5.2 billion lek have been made available to agriculture for the National Support Scheme, 5 billion lek in the form of a sovereign guarantee to facilitate crediting for farmers, and 4 billion lek for investments in the rehabilitation and improvement of irrigation canals.
The Minister also emphasized that the implementation of the 10% compensation scheme for agricultural products continues, a measure that aims to support domestic production and increase farmers' incomes.
According to Malaj, these financial policies aim to promote rural development, improve productivity in agriculture and create more favorable conditions for investment, strengthening the sustainability and competitiveness of the sector.
