Ibrahimaj: Albanian businesses will be supported to prepare for the European

The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, presented today the national program for preparing businesses for European Union Integration, an initiative that aims to help Albanian enterprises increase competitiveness and meet the necessary standards for entering the single European market.

During the activity with representatives of the business community, Ibrahimaj emphasized that the European integration process is accompanied by important reforms, where the economy and the preparation of Albanian entrepreneurship constitute one of the main pillars.

She noted that the single European market with around 450 million consumers offers great opportunities, but also requires high standards of competitiveness. According to her, the government's objective is to increase the benefits for Albanian businesses from membership in the European Union, while reducing the costs of adapting to market demands.

The Minister explained that the program is based on four main pillars: assessing business readiness, informing and raising awareness, developing skills through training, and increasing competitiveness through financial support, automation, certifications, and digital and green transformation.

Ibrahimaj announced that the government is pursuing reforms to improve the business climate in parallel. She emphasized that over the past four years, startups have been supported with 16.5 million euros, while the guarantee fund for lending to small and medium-sized enterprises has increased this year to 250 million euros, to facilitate access to financing and strengthen competitiveness.

According to her, investments have also been made in vocational education, while new strategies have been drafted for the development of exports and small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Minister emphasized that the program aims to reach around 48,000 enterprises this year, create a network of experts and a unique digital platform that will provide information, training and certification programs for businesses.

She announced that starting in October, an information campaign will be conducted on the ground, during which institutions will directly contact businesses to orient them on the obligations, standards and opportunities brought about by the European Union integration process.
