Freeing up public spaces, Rama returns to Vlora - The Prime Minister

Prime Minister Edi Rama arrived in the city of Vlora on Monday morning and held a meeting at the municipality.

The head of government was received by Mayor Ermal Dredha and accompanied by Defense Minister Pirro Vëngu and the political leader of the Socialist Party for Vlora, Bledi Çuçi.

A few days after Rama's first visit to Vlora, 21 directors of the Municipality resigned. Rama set a deadline of July 15 for all new directors of the institution to be elected. In recent days, Rama has increased his criticism and warned of measures if public spaces in Vlora and other cities are not vacated.

Meanwhile, the Vlora municipality's action to vacate public spaces has been carried out with intensity even during the night. The coastal promenade "Lungomare" has become the epicenter of this operation, where a significant presence of officials and leaders of the Municipality of Vlora is noted. On Sunday, the mayor of the municipality, Ermal Dredha, issued a stern warning to all private entities that have occupied public spaces.

He declared that there will be no more tolerance for businesses that impede the free movement of citizens, especially in areas dedicated to pedestrians. This operation, according to the Municipality of Vlora, aims to return to the city and its residents public spaces that have been usurped for years, especially along the coast, which is massively frequented by domestic and foreign vacationers during the summer season.
