Soft loans and grants for home renovation - Energy efficiency, financial incentives to be given by the government for zero-emission buildings
Grants, soft loans and other financial incentives. These are some of the supporting measures provided for in the new law "On energy performance in buildings", with the aim of saving energy and reducing emissions.
According to the document issued for public consultation, the financing schemes will be approved by the Council of Ministers and will be in function of the renovation of private buildings, the renovation of the national stock of public buildings, the audit and certification of buildings, as well as the replacement of technical systems that use fossil fuels with alternative systems with high energy efficiency that use renewable energy sources.
This means that the financial support will be able to be used by citizens or state institutions for thermal insulation of buildings, replacement of doors and windows, as well as the application of other energy efficiency measures, in order to save and reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, which come from the residential sector.
This will also fulfill the objective foreseen in the law for the transformation into a stock with high energy performance and decarbonized by 2050, of the existing buildings.
The draft specifies that for multi-unit buildings, such as multi-apartment buildings, the necessary quorum to apply and proceed with the implementation of the support scheme is 60% of the owners of the residential units. This means that at least 60% of the owners of a building must agree to apply and benefit from the support schemes.
